Weekly Readings for January 6-12

Here is the list of readings for this week.  Each week I will post 2 chapters to read per day as the main reading plan, and for anyone who wants to read the whole Bible in 2025, I’ll post the extra chapters needed for that goal.  The main readings will include all of the New Testament, plus Psalms, Proverbs, the Pentateuch, Ecclesiastes, and a few other Old Testament books.

Reading 3 chapters a day on weekdays and 4 on weekends almost exactly covers the 1,189 chapters of the Bible, so the “extra” readings will be about 9 chapters per week.

Follow along (or not) any way you choose!  I will often be re-posting old blogs that comment on the chapters in this schedule.

Monday, January 6: Psalm 6, Genesis 6

Tuesday, January 7: Psalm 7, Genesis 7

Wednesday, January 8: Psalm 8, Genesis 8

Thursday, January 9: Psalm 9, Genesis 9

Friday, January 10: Psalm 10, Genesis 10

With only 2 days left in 2024, we come to the end of the bible in a year program.  I don’t know if anyone followed along, but I know it was helpful to keep myself on track.

We’re almost done with the Bible in a year schedule for 2024, with only the last chapters of Revelation and Daniel remaining.  I don’t know if anyone followed along, but I know it was helpful to keep myself on track.

In 2025, each week I plan to post 2 chapters to read per day as the main reading plan, but with extra chapters for anyone who wants to do Bible in a year.  The readings will begin with Psalms and Genesis, and the “extra” chapters will begin with 1 Samuel.  On my current plan for the year, the main readings will include all of the New Testament, plus the Psalms, Proverbs, the Pentateuch, and a few other Old Testament books.

Below are the chapters to read this week if you’re following along in my Bible in a year schedule, divided into morning and evening readings.  Follow along any way you want: you can just do the evening reading, flip the morning and evening, or read it all.  Whatever works for you and your schedule!  It doesn’t have to be Bible in a Year for everyone.

By the end of this week, we’ll be into the 2 final books: Daniel and Revelation.  I’m considering whether and how to continue this into 2025.  It might just be daily readings, but not a full Bible in a year.
